A Typical Hunt With FLO

Flatliner outfitters host private land hunting retreats/experiences. After booking a hunt, hunters will proceed through the tagging process via Colorado Parks and Wildlife with assistance from a FLO employee.  Upon arrival, Hunters will be shown their rooms and settle in for a while. Once settled, all hunters will sight in their equipment. Bow hunters will have access to a bow range with oversized targets for long range practice, Rifle hunters will go to our local range. We will then return to the ranch for dinner. The next four days are hunting days.

On hunting days, we will wake up for a group lunch. Depending on the morning, breakfast will consist of a mix of hardy breakfast foods, baked goods from our local bakery or breakfast burritos. All cooking will be done by our private chef, Greg. Lunch will be provided to hunters before every morning hunt. We will then head to the woods to hunt. Depending on the feelings of the day, we will either eat lunch in the field or retreat to the ranch and relax. We will then head back out until dark. After the hunt we will all have a group meal conducted by the nomadic table.
On the day of departure all customers will be assisted to the airport. Driving Customers will have until 2 pm to leave on the day of departure.

Note: Flatliner Outfitters Host hunters through the travel lodge in yampa at their own expense.  Campers, RVs, and wall tents are permitted.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the lodging arrangements?

Flatliner Outfitters has strategic partners providing lodging and meals.

How far is the airport?

Most of our clients typically fly into Denver and rent a car to drive out to the ranch. However, flying into the Steamboat/Hayden airport is becoming more common. Denver is 2.5 hours away and Hayden is 45 minutes.

Are Kills Guaranteed?

Elk hunting in Northwest Colorado is the real deal. We pride ourselves at being the best in the business, but unfortunately (Hunting ) is hunting and nothing can be guaranteed. Flatliner Outfitters is involved and only Fairchase practices.

Do I bring my own Gun?

We believe that our hunters perform at their best when they are using equipment that is familiar to them. We prefer you to bring your own firearm that you are proficient with however, if you do not have access to a firearm that would qualify for an elk hunt, one can be provided.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes, flatliner Outfitters complies with all state and federal regulations regarding liabilities insurance as well as bonding policies.

Do I need to apply for the draw?

About half of the (Hunting ) that we provide requires going through the drop process. Late season Elk hunts do not require going through the draw nor do our bear hunts.
